All About Dreams

How To Develop The Power To Dream

Go to sleep keeping the mind as clear and uncluttered as is possible.  Yoga breathing exercises (pranayama) or meditation techniques can help achieve this. It is desirable to completely relax mind and body to create the receptive mood required for dreams to appear as realities, or as true explanations of past or future events.

.

For example you may dream you are talking with a dead relative, and that relative endeavours to extract a promise from you, warning you of a coming distressing event unless you follow their advice. If you were able to grasp the inner workings of your higher or spiritual self, which has manifest it’s self in the hidden meanings of this dream, you could perhaps avert a forthcoming event or avoid the negative consequences of taking the wrong course or path. The voice of the relatives is only that higher self, taking a more physical form to more easily approach, and be understood by the mind that lives on the earthly plane.

Exaggerated Dreams

Nightmares

The will is suspended during sleep, so the dream mind is much more likely to exaggerate events than the waking mind. This is why Images so often appear in dreams that are distorted or hideous, portraying darkness and violence – nightmares; or they are highly exciting and emotional filling the dreamer with feelings of either fear and horror or great excitement

Opposing Dreams

The hidden intentions of these dreams are not always negative, but often are meant to help us make changes to our lives in some way. Nightmares are also often seen to be our unconscious mind trying to deal with  fears, or warning us of events to come
The constant mental dwelling upon the same thing can distort your subjectivity, thus throwing your dreams in exactly opposite channels to the actual waking reality and often the dreamer feels a sense of being awake or lucid in dreams like these. On awaking after such a contrary dream often the dreamer experiences no feelings of recuperation of either mind or body, it seems that Sleep is not restful while the dreamer is held by material ideas in the subjective state.
